Barry Shitpeas is a fictional character who appears in Charlie Brooker (it’s not Mr Biffo) series including Screenwipe and Weekly Wipe and is played by the series director Al Campbell. He is described by the series as a half-witted satirist. He appears in short segments discussing the events or programs that happened this week. He often doesn't fully understand the television shows he is reviewing.
Barry due to his hilarious quotes and statements, proved to be popular amongst viewers. Many clips of his segments have been uploaded to Youtube and many of his quotes added to websites. The success of Barry Shitpeas lead to the creation of a similar female reviewer named "Philomena Cunk".
He was devised as a celebrity to host the fictitious show "Shit On A Granny" in Screenwipe
Barry does not really ‘shit peas’ which was a disappointment to Lloyd Grossman on a recent book tour
